Pre-departure preparation

Brazilian visa - check, yellow fever vaccination - check, malaria pills- check ! You can add about 5 more vaccinations to the check list and a million other documents. I wasn't able to get my Bolivian visa because the consulate was closed a week before Christmas! Typical south american way of life......come late, leave early. Hopefully I can buy my visa in the Bolivian airport. I'll most likely be charged $100 extra but it will be so worth it! After packing and repacking twice, I think I am almost ready. Marlana and I have been chatting on skype daily now and I am so excited to see her on Tuesday!

We will be composing the blog together. This is our current itinerary which will be updated soon:

Dec. 31st : I arrive in Santiago, Chile

• I arrive in the airport at 9:50 am and then have the whole day to see the city with Marlana
• For new years eve, we'll be heading to Valparaiso on the beach for some of the best fiestas in the country!
  

Jan. 4th: Marlana and I depart for Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
Jan. 21st: Fly into La Paz, Bolivia
Feb 1st: Arrive in Lima, Peru
Feb 11th: Leave Lima for Santiago
Feb 15th: Head to Buenos Aires for Orientation
